Project Details

This course was developed to train Jr. biologists as an onboarding module to familiarize them with the habitat of birds in the Kootenays that are part of the Habitat Wildlife Features Order.

Tools Used

The onboarding module was developed using Articulate Storyline with a number of other image generating and editing tools such as Adobe and Canva.

Design Process

Analysis: The company wanted improvements in junior biologists’ education on the nesting features of specific birds in the Kootenay area.

Design: I met with the senior biologist to learn the main areas for the module, which focused on birds of the Kootenays. We worked together to plan a module with a gamified design.

Develop: The module was developed using the required documentation provided by the provincial government to implement the proper regulations in the field.

Implementation: A SCORM and xAPI file provided the client with a first and final draft for feedback and functionality tests.

Evaluation: I asked the client to email a short survey to any new workers who completed the training module over the first few months to provide feedback on the module.
