Project Details
This interactive demo is a snapshot of an exhibit developed for the Alberta Naval Museum. The goal of this project was to create an interactive exhibit that would help tell the story of two great Canadian war heroes from WWII.
Tools Used
The game was developed using Articulate Storyline with graphic design work completed using the Affinity platform. Historical content was gathered from the Alberta Naval Archives for use in the project. The graphics were sourced from Shutterstock and Canva for commercial licensing needs.
Design Process
Analysis: I contacted the Alberta Naval Museum about an interactive game that would document the lives of Gerald Hammond and Andy Anderson, who both died on the last day of WWII.
Design: The game was developed as a story-driven strategy game that would play like an interactive board game.
Develop: The module was designed to run continuously, allowing it to be used by numerous patrons each day.
Implementation: The game was exported as an HTML 5 file and converted into an app that could be installed on the desktop of the iPad.
Evaluation: I spent a day watching people at the museum play the game and asked for any feedback with regards to the story and gameplay.
